About Me

 Aloha, and welcome to the Hawai’i  music scene!

I have been in the field of music education and choral music in Hawai’i for over fifty years. Here are some of the highlights of my career:

  • Chairman of the Music Department of St. Andrew’s Priory School for 25 years.
  • Founder and Artistic Director of the Hawai’i Children’s Chorus.
  • Founder and Executive Director of the Pacific Rim Children's Chorus Festival.
  • Life member of the American Choral Directors Association.
  • Served twice as the President of the ACDA Hawai’i Chapter.
  • Currently serve as ACDA Hawai’i Chapter Treasurer.
  • Elected regional representative on the National Standing Committee on Children’s Choruses for ACDA.
  • Life-member of the Hawaii Music Educators Association.

As chairman of the Music Department of St. Andrew’s Priory School for 25 years I developed a comprehensive K-12 curriculum including band, orchestra, choir and bells. In 1985 I created and developed the Queen Emma Center as the community service profit arm for the school. This included the music and dance schools, early morning family breakfast program, after school care and co-ed summer school. Brokered the school's purchase of the Queen Emma Pre-school and the Timberline Camp. 

Founder & Artistic Director of the Hawai’i Children’s Chorus in 1979 and Founder & Executive Director of Pacific Rim Children's Chorus Festival that was produced annually in Honolulu from 2001 to 2010.

Several choral arrangements in print with Hal Leonard Publications. My personal interests include international travel. I devote much time and energy to expanding awareness and knowledge of the different choral music traditions throughout the Pacific region.

Former owner of the Group Travel Services Hawai’i until 2012. Now retired, the company continues to specialize in serving performing music groups traveling to Hawai’i. Many services and itineraries offered include the popular Hawaiian Culture and Performance Tour.

As a patron of the Performing Arts in Hawai’i, served on the Advisory Board of the Hawai’i Youth Opera Chorus and the Hawai’i Symphony Chorus. Served as a member of the Board of Trustees for the National Youth Choir of Great Britain.
